'Margarita with a straw' clears censors.

Actress Kalki Koechlin’s upcoming film ‘Margarita With A Straw” had finally cleared the Censor Board after a previous halt.

Earlier, the censors wanted a shot showing the lead character peeing cut, and a 12-second kissing scene between the actress and her on screen lesbian lover. Director Shonali bose said ” We’ve come out with only a single cut!“ but was a bit disappointed with the Censor Board adding “With the release scheduled for April 17, we didn’t want to delay things and accepted the cut. Ideally, a filmmaker shouldn’t be made to edit his or her film,“

The film is about a woman with cerebral palsy coming to terms with her queer sexuality.
