Akhtar draws from “real life”

Working on his character for his next was rather easy for Farhan Akhtar. The actor is playing a journalist in his upcoming film, directed by his sister Zoya Akhtar.

And since he has met several reporters over the years, he had many references for the role. “Farhan didn’t have to try hard. Being part of Bollywood, he has had several encounters with journalists in his career,” says a spokesperson.  

The actor modelled his character on a few people from the media he knows personally. “He interacts with journalists during interviews. And sometimes, some of their mannerisms or their way of dealing with things stay with him. While preparing for this role, he recalled all those traits, and incorporated them in his performance,” adds the insider.

While Farhan remained unavailable for a comment, the film’s spokesperson confirmed the news.
