Taylor later co-founded the Elysian Quartet, a contemporary classical music group that toured in the UK and internationally.

As a composer, Taylor has scored music for films, theatre productions, and dance performances. In 2015, he received an Ivor Novello Award for his work on the film “Kajaki”. Taylor also collaborated on the music for the 2016 Oscar-winning film “The Revenant”. He has also composed music for television shows such as “Humans” and “Kiri”.
