Global Leaders in India as They Host G20 Summit
This year’s G20 summit is currently being held in New Delhi with leaders from 20 nations meeting to discuss major global challenges such as climate change, sustainable development, and the economy. They meet once a year, and this weekend, leaders from around the world are at the Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan to talk about potential solutions.
The nations that comprise the G20 summit are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the UK, and the United States. Spain is considered as a permanent guest. In addition, this year Bangladesh, Egypt, and Nigeria were also invited.
Most of the leaders of these countries will be in attendance, however there a few notable opt outs including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
The Indian delegation set the theme as “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” meaning “One Earth, One Family, One Future.” They also set some key aspects on the agenda with discussions on digital public architecture, climate finance, bank reform, debt vulnerabilities, and other important issues.
These global representatives have already been greeted with Bollywood entertainment, and the menu is also shaping up to be amazing. The expected menu is looking to list dishes like Paneer Lababdar, Potato Lyonnaise, Kaju Matar Makhana, Cucumber Raita, Tandoori Roti, Butter Naan, and Kesar Pista Rasmalai along with many others. Leaders from all over the world are getting the taste of India as the country hosts one the most important international events of the year.
