Are Hollywood Blockbusters making big money in the Indian movie market? With the recent ‘Avengers’ being the fourth biggest and highest grossing US film in India it seems US films are proving to have a huge audience in India for Hollywood films. Big Hollywood films with visual striking performances like Spider-Man, Avengers, MI4, Fast and Furious and many others tend to attract Indian audience and the fan based has grown rapidly over years.
According to Farokh Balasara from Ernst & Young’s, as the number of multiplexes grow in India, so will the distribution of Hollywood Bockbusters. Bollywood has coined the recent “100 Crore” club and will soon see its newest members from Hollywood.
Big Hollywood films which work in India tend to be visual spectacles like MI4, Avatar or Jurassic Park.

About 1,000 films are produced each year in India which is the world’s largest producer. Nearly 3 Billion ticket sales annually show that there is a huge market for film productions. Hollywood production studios such as Viacom, SONY and even Disney are tapping into the market by increasing their marketing budgets and even getting behind the scenes on “Bollywood” productions.
