India’s “Met Gala”
The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in BKC, Mumbai hosted a glamorous opening gala last weekend is being dubbed “India’s Met Gala.” Many Hollywood and Bollywood stars graced the opening. Bollywood actors Priyanka Chopra, SRK, Deepika Padukone, Kiara Advani, Sidharth Malhotra, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Karan Johar, among others, were in attendance. Nick Jonas, Gigi Hadid, Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Emma Chamberlain also made an appearance in their stunning red carpet looks.
This three-day launch hosted panel talks, red carpet events, as well musical performances to celebrate the space opening. The NMACC is helping India reclaim its culture, fashion, and art with a Grand Theatre inside that seats 2000. The first night kicked off the celebration with a 90-minute performance called The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation. This is the biggest Indian musical with 350 performers and a 55-piece orchestra. It took the audience on a journey of India’s cultural identity through dance, drama, and music. The second night inaugurated the costume exhibition of the NMACC that tells the story of India’s global influence on fashion.
At the gala dinner, food wasn’t the only thing served as many celebrities including Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, and Gigi Hadid held impromptu performances. Shah Rukh Khan himself also graced the stage to the joy of many of the attendees. The epic exhibition will be on display at the NMACC until June 4.
