Lights, Camera, Dance – ConfiDance!
The much awaited dance show, SHIAMAK’s ConfiDance lived up to its expectations with a standing ovation. With over fifty performers from across the Lower Mainland (Vancouver) taking the stage, the audience got a super treat at the Michael J Fox Theater. Two hours of nonstop dancing was matched with colorful costumes, breath taking visuals and entertainment par excellence.
ConfiDance is performed by students who are specially handpicked by Shiamak Davar, Founder & Artistic Director of the academy. These students are trained in various dance styles presented in this uniquely curated show which has the quality to connect with and entertain audiences in any part of the world. With packed shows across Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, London, Sydney, Melbourne, Toronto; ConfiDance made a grand debut here in the Lower Mainland.
An eclectic mix of Shiamak’s Indo – Contemporary, Hip Hop, Belly dancing, Theatre Jazz and Bollywood Jazz, the performers showcased their versatility as dancers! “The SHIAMAK Dance Team here in Vancouver worked very hard for this show. This unique opportunity given to us by Shiamak has not only helped them understand the dynamics that go into presenting a stage show, but also developed a great sense of team spirit between all the dancers. We’re grateful for this opportunity and to everyone who supported us!” said Rohan D’Silva (Senior Manager, Master Instructor & Lead Performer – SHIAMAK Vancouver).
Mr. Sav Dhaliwal (Councillor – City of Burnaby) addressed the audience and was seen clapping and cheering the performers. With an overwhelming response, dance enthusiasts hope for another chance to watch the show again.
Shiamak believes that being on stage is a very important part of a performing arts experience and this show is an extension of this opportunity to his dance teams across the world. With a second time in Toronto, we wait for a similar announcement to be made in Vancouver to catch this extravaganza one more time!
