Nawazuddin Siddiqui awarded at Cardiff Film Festival
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s rags to riches story is something that many young actors draw inspiration from. He was recently awarded the Golden Dragon for his achievements at the Cardiff International Film Festival.
The actor took to Twitter to express his happiness. “ Congratulations Judi Dench on receiving the Lifetime Achievement award, Thank You Mr. Mick Antoniw, the Counsel General of Wales,UK & Cardiff International Film Festival” for bestowing me with the prestigious Golden Dragon Award,” he wrote.

On the work front, Nawaz will be seen opposite Athiya Shetty in the romantic-comedy Motichoor Chaknachoor. He will also be starring in a film titled Bole Chudiyan, which is being directed by his brother.
About the decision to shift to comedy, Nawazuddin told The Quint, “I have done comedy before, in around 150 plays. There are different types of comedy. Folk theatre has some elements, Shakespeare also did it with Comedy of Errors. There is slapstick comedy, and many others which I have done before. For me, comedy is the easiest genre. For any actor, the two easiest things to do are to make someone laugh and cry. The most difficult part is to make people think with your performance. Whoever says that comedy is difficult… I think it’s the easiest, even tragedy. The audience lives in constant stress where even a small joke can make them laugh. Even the vulgar comedies are easily digested by them.”
