Not a "Morning Person"?
Not a “Morning Person”? Find yourself a bit sluggish in the morning?… Well we’ve got some tips to get you going.
A restful night’s sleep is as important as the necessary 8-hour snooze and then wake up early before sunrise. Start your day with some kind of spiritual practice, it could be anything from 10-minute breathing exercises to a calming chant that soothes your soul.
Avoid drinking caffeine the previous day after 4 pm and eat your dinner at least 2 hours before hitting the sack, allowing your body to digest your food for a restful sleep and turn off those smart phones and tablets at least an hour ahead of bedtime. A hot shower at night will also relax your muscles and get you ready for a good nights sleep.
You have heard the term “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day”, well there is some logic to that. Starting off your day well nourished will give you the energy to make it through the morning and beyond. A balance of protein, complex carbohydrates, fiber and a moderate amount of healthy fats is essential. Things like Greek Yogurt, Whole grain toast, Oatmeal and Eggs will go a long way.
Waking up naturally is also important. The blaring siren of a loud alarm shocking you in the morning isn’t the best idea. Try selecting soft tones, birds chirping or what ever “pumps you up” in the morning, it just doesn’t need to be blasting at full volume.
