Maintaining a fine balance between a demanding carrier and family life may not be the easiest thing, but some Bollywood celebs have put down some solid ground rules when it comes to the integration between their life on on the Big Screen and at Home. Here is what some of B-Town’s super moms had to say.
Kajol believes that its essential to discipline her children, Moms word is law and says “I am proud of the fact that my kids listen to 70% of the things I say. The other 30% is open for fights and compromises but we deal with it. I think it’s a good ratio.”
When asked the same from MadhuriDixit she said “There is one thing that I am really strict about and that is brushing teeth twice a day. No matter how tired they are or how late they arrive after attending birthday parties, I make sure that they brush their teeth.” Perhaps being married to a doctor has made this Bollywood Diva health conscious about her families health.
Malaika Arora Khan believes in giving her kids some freedom to do what they want. “Arhaan is nine years old and I am in no hurry to plan things for him. Moreover, I am not a mother who would thrust her hopes and aspirations on her child. He has to decide what he wants to do in life.” – said Khan in an interview.
Sushmita Sen said that although she is mellow when it comes to her kids, that’s not always been the case relating to how she used to be a strict mom. “I started off being a pretty strict mom but I find myself easing off, because now I’m not trying to figure Renee out; she tells me. She had a very strict itinerary because it was the only way to get her to understand discipline.” Not pampering the kids and letting them explore their imagination is the principle Sussanne Roshan goes by. “From the beginning, Hrithik and I have believed that children need to be treated as equals and as your friends.”, While Kiran Rao says that she doesn’t cry over ‘spilled milk” focusing on the positive things.
Sridevi says that she isnt a strict parent and wants her girls to be the best, enjoying themselves to the fullest. “They are very down to earth; not spoiled at all! As for parenting decisions, it’s a joint effort.” Her children have responded well to her parenting and believe that their mom strikes the perfect path of being strict and fun.
On the subject of parenting, Raveena Tandon says “There is no perfect parent. I became a mom when my child was given to me. We say many things that might unconsciously wound the child. A parent has to be conscious about what is good and bad.”
