Vidya Balan “The Voice for Women in Cinema”

Vidya Balan recently spoke about the portrayal of women in Indian cinema at the on going Women Economic Forum 2015 in Goa.

“I’m happy to be invited to speak at the event. I believe this international forum will be a great place to showcase the potential of women’s leadership globally.” – said Balan.

Balan has played several roles centered around the female character such as ‘No One Killed Jessica’ and Kahaani .  

Many dignitaries, including authors, politicians, and entrepreneurs from across the globe will also talk about women’s empowerment at the event.

The actress  was also given an award to be honored as the Iconic Woman of the Decade for her excellent portrayal of characters that empower women.

An initiative of the ALL Ladies League, WEF is the largest congregation of women across the world, and the first one that addresses a 360 degree range of subjects, it has an impressive line up of speakers for a wide array of topics of global economy, industry, entrepreneurship, international relations, culture, innovation and technology.
