5 EASY DIWALI DECOR

HAPPY DIWALI!!

With so many holidays and special occasions this time of year, it’s hard to find time to decorate your home for every single one. Here are 5 easy, last-minute decorations you can put up for Diwali.

1. String Lights

Easy to find and easy to buy. String lights can be found in most stores and can be hung up almost anywhere. Inside or outside, horizontal or vertical, string lights are flexible in how you put them up. You can hang them on the walls or all tape then alongside counters and floors to light up walk ways. You can choose between a soft glow or colored lights and also choose between different modes if you want the lights to flicker or stay stagnant. They provide an elegant and classy look for the festival of lights.

2. Diyas

Following the trend of lights, Diyas are also an easy way to decorate your home. Diyas are more Diwali-specific, and you can light as many as you want. You can also put these outside or inside and even place them to create a beautiful pattern. They can also light up Rangoli if placed inside those designs.

3. Rangoli

Speaking of Rangoli, you can make designs even if you don’t have the right powder; you can use chalk! Chalk makes it easier to outline patterns, and it comes in more colors. The only downside is that it may not be as bright as traditional rangoli powder is, but you could even sub in Haldi and Flour for yellow and white powder. Be creative and use whatever household items you think would make for a good design. You could even use flower petals.

4. Flower Petals

Aside from being used in the Rangoli, flower petals can also be used for decorations throughout the house. They can be scattered in various places such as counters or tables, or they could be used to create a walkway. Petals could also be used in a design in itself. You can also string flower petals together to create décor that can be hung on the walls.

5. Candles

You can’t forget about candles. Although basic, it is essentially the very foundation of light. You can get any kind of candles, small or big and light a match. If you choose to spice things up, you can even light some scented candles. Even electric candles can bring light into your homes, so grab a candle, light it up, and have a happy Diwali.
