A Mediterranean Lifestyle can Prevent Early Death

Researchers are finding that living a Mediterranean lifestyle is helping people live longer. For 9 years, Scientists followed around 110,000 adults from ages 45 to 70 living the UK where they found that this lifestyle could reduce health issues like cancer, heart disease, and stroke, which could prevent early deaths.

This lifestyle includes socializing, resting, plenty of exercising, and healthy eating. Mediterranean diets in specific limit salt intake as well as leaning towards more healthy drinks instead of sugary ones like soda. People following this lifestyle make sure to make time for regular naps, hanging out with friends, and physical activity as well.

Researchers are saying that those who follow this way of living reduced their chances of death by 29% comparatively to the people who do not. According to the Mayo Clinic, these people are also 28% less likely to die from a cancer complication.

You don’t have to live in the Mediterranean to abide by this lifestyle. Studies suggest that people interested should look into locally sourced products and keep track of how much salt and sugar they eat as well as making sure they are getting sufficient sleep, exercising, and setting aside time to spend with their loved ones.
