End of The DDLJ Era!
It’s an end of the DDLJ Era – After a successful run for 1009 weeks, that’s over 19 years! Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge has ji li apni zindagi but for sure it won’t go out of peoples heart forever.
The film staring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol that released on 19 October, 1995 and completed 1000 weeks on 12 December, 2014 at Maratha Mandir and has finally ended at 1009 weeks.
Sources say the theatre faced issues regarding the working hours of the staff otherwise the management was more than happy to continue playing the film as long as it drew audience. Though there was no question about drawing audience as weekend always went housefull. It is still the end of an era!
And yes it feels good to say that even Barack Obama – the president of United States had honored the DDLJ dialogue in his speech during his latest India tour. With that I’ll end with the ever so famous dialogue from DDLJ: ‘It’s okay Senorita, bade bade desho mein, chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hai’.
