iPhone 15 set to be Produced in India

Apple supplier Foxconn is starting to produce the iPhone 15 in India as Apple is looking to expand its manufacturing horizon beyond China. This is the first time an iPhone is being made in India before its global release. The Sriperumbudar plant in Tamil Nadu will begin operations soon. Similar to China, they will export the devices within a few weeks once they start.

Since tensions between Washington and Beijing have been tight recently, the company is trying to find other locations they can utilize. Two Indian suppliers: The Pegatron Corporation and Wistron Corporation facility that the Tata Group is buying are the suppliers that are working on the coming Apple product.

Although it hasn’t been confirmed, the new iPhone is looking like it could incorporate Thunderbolt/USB4’s 40Gbos high-speed data transmission feature. In comparison, all of the other iPhones have previously been USB 2.0 speeds, which is equivalent to 480 megabits per second, while the the 15 has a performance that is equivalent to 40,000 megabits per second.

Apple is planning to release four different models with a 6.1-inch normal and pro version and a 6.7-inch normal and pro version called an iPhone 15 Plus. It is also rumored that instead of a lightning port, users can expect a USB-C port. Apple users are speculating, the iPhone 15 launch date could be in a few weeks around September 12.
