Maria Goretti is ready to Cook it Up.
Actor, food enthusiast and former VJ Maria Goretti is turning host with a cookery show, I Love Cooking, on the premium foodtainment channel, Living Foodz.
The show is being touted to be an extension of Maria’s life as a home chef and mother; it will also showcase her passion for wholesome cooking, and DIY. Considering Maria has been experimenting with food and cooking for her family, some of the recipes are personalized with a touch of her taste.
Some of her family’s favorite dishes include Cheesy Rice Bites and Apple Chutney with Pitorh. She will add a modern twist to traditional recipes, creating exciting combinations such as Makke Ke Pancakes with Sarson Ka Saag gravy.
Talking about her inspiration, Maria says, “My family’s multicultural heritage leaves a mark on my cooking. From Christmas cakes and pancakes to biryanis, mithais and curries, I experiment with flavours, textures and spices.”
The decor of the set of the show is similar to that of Maria’s home. It features an indoor kitchen and organic garden. She also insisted on using her own kitchen equipment. The show will have modern and modified versions of traditional dishes. One of them is the homemade Chow, a dish made with noodles, sauces and stir-fried vegetables that Maria’s mother used to make for her.
“I am curious to know how my children will react to seeing me on television. They don’t believe that I was once a cool TV host,” says Maria.
