Shashi Kapoor awarded Dadasahed.
Bollywood Actor, Producer, Director Shashi Kapoor has been announced as the winner of the 46th Dada Saheb Phalke award for contribution to Indian Cinema.
The 77 year old veteran has stared in some memorable films such as ‘Kabhie Kabhie’, ‘Trishul’ and ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’. Kapoor began his acting career as a child in the 1940’s and played roles in Aag and Awaara performing the role of a younger version of a character played by his older Actor Brother the iconic Raj Kapoor.
Proud Brother and Actor Rishi Kapoor took to Social Media tweeting out: “Yessssssss! Shashi Kapoor to get the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award for contribution to Indian Cinema. Well deserved uncle. God Bless!”
Kapoor is internationally known for starring in many British and American films such as The Householder, Shakespeare Wallah, Bombay Talkie, and Heat and Dust.
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award entitles him to a Swarn Kamal (Golden Lotus), a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh and a shawl.
