TV Stars return to the screen

Indian TV shows have gained popularity which some say may even rival “Bollywood”, with a massive fan following some favorite stars are returning to the screen.

Rakshanda Khan
Last seen in ‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain‘, the 41-year-old is returning to be part of a comedy series. She was missing in action for a year after she became a mother for the first time in December 2014. “If I sign a show, I’ll be working 12-14 hours a day. My baby needs me much more than I need a career. Plus I don’t really miss being at work,” – said Khan

Mona Singh
The 34-year-old has returned to the small screen after two years. Popular for playing the role of Jassi in the TV series, ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin‘, Mona went on to do the soap ‘Kya Hua Tera Waada‘ and  now back with a show that revolves around finding love after marriage, she was quoted as saying: “It’s a different concept and hence, took me no time to say ‘yes’ to the project.”

Rati Pandey
The ‘Hitler Didi‘ actress will be seen in an upcoming horror series, where she will be the sutradhaar. In a recent interview, Rati explained why she is coming back to television after two years. “I didn’t want to take up any show for about a year after Hitler Didi. I preferred to have my personal space and enjoy life. I got a few offers during this time, but nothing excited me,” – said Pandey

Shweta Prasad
She played the role of popular actor Sakshi Tanwar’s daughter in the hit soap TV series ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii‘, will be seen on TV after a gap of 14 years. In a recent interview, the 24-year-old said she couldn’t be more excited to return to TV. “I haven’t done television in 14 years. I’ve done a couple of short films… I’m happy to be back,” – said Prasad

Grusha Kapoor
After receiving fame for the 1993 TV show ‘Tara‘, Grusha will be returning to the small screen after almost five years, as Kaikeyi in a mythological series. She stated “I was away since I had a baby and was busy being a mother at home. Also, nothing exciting came my way. I think Kaikeyi will be the ideal role for me to come back to TV,”
