The first Crowd funded Hindi film hits the Bengaluru Big Screen today
The first film in Indian cinema history of which the commercial released is funded by 238 people from 15 countries, “Barefoot to Goa” – an award winning movie and well known in the International Films Festival circuit, starring Farrukha Jafar, Saara Nahar and Prakhar, is getting released in Bengaluru on Friday, April 24, at PVR Cinema, Forum Mall, Koramangala. Inspired by true stories from our very own Indian Society the movie was successfully released in other 11 cities of India a weeks before.
The film, Directed by Praveen Morchhale, has been acclaimed at many International Film Festivals across the world and loved by audience and critics alike. Film is being held as new wave in India cinema for its style and narratives. Commenting on the announcement, Praveen Morchhale said, “The experiment on Crowd funding, which we call as Proud Funding has turned out to be a great success and we are glad to bring Barefoot to Goa to the Garden City- Namma Bengaluru from tomorrow and movie will run for a week. 30 proud people from Bengaluru city have funded the film for the release.
The movie, “Barefoot to Goa” with time duration of 90-minutes is a story of two children who leave their home in Mumbai to get back their ill and estranged grandmother, who lives alone in Goa which is abandoned by parents. It’s a very emotional parable of relationship getting left behind in our fast paced society and city life which makes viewers think and reflect upon their life and relationship.
Film takes audience to journey within and it depicts the emptiness of our life through eyes of children. The main leads of the movie are from a non-acting background and to add more authenticity to the characters they are brought from real situations.
