Title after a very famous and effective villain of Indian film industry, Gabbar, this film is conceptually altered and tried to show that a bad man can have good causes to work on.
An average Indian’s suffering and day to day torture for common works of government involvement is highlighted in the film.
Corruption is the word and central idea of the film is to encourage youth to fight against day to day corruption. A real India and official process flow is boldly presented and is very much appreciable.
A Few moments of the film are so catchy that one would not leave the seat, especially the one in which modern day hospitals and doctors are exposed. Presentation of scene is effective and touches the common man, who could have faced the situation.
Action in the film has the blend of south indian movies, yet enjoyable. There may be some more sectors like corruption in education etc be added, hence the scope of the film is not effectively utilized by the director or writer.
Songs have nothing to do with the story and looks like it has been unnecessarily injected. But a cherry on ice cream, Kareena Kapoor Khan looks stunning in her very short role with a song.
Another sensational item song involving Chitrangada Singh is fairly composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh. Shruti Hassan as a lead actress, played her role well, but her role faded many times in parts. With a south indian villain and excellent dialogues delivered by Akshay Kumar, it engaged the audience.
The Climax of the film is abrupt, but with a message for society. There could have been more masala added to the climax but still, to Akshay’s acting and in the name of Gabbar, it is indeed a watchable film and should give it a shot. “I hate sorry”, is the key of the film, watch it to decrypt the meaning behind the tag line.
