Natural treatments for your uninvited headache

Whether it is lack of sleep, stress/tension, sinus problem, dehydration or restlessness, headaches are very common problem we see in people of all ages frequently.

The pain can make your day to day life a miserable challenge and require one to reach out for pain killers. There are many home remedies proven to be a great way to rid your horrible headaches.

Cayenne Pepper:

Though using something spicy may not sound helpful with headaches but Cayenne Pepper is well know to soothe pounding headache quickly due to capsaicin, the active ingredient that diminishes transmitted pain tendency.

Take ½ teaspoon of cayenne powder and dilute it in 4 ounces of warm water and mix well. Soak a cotton swab in the solution and stir it around to make sure it’s covered as the powder can sometimes sink to the bottom. Apply the moist swab gently to the inside of each nostril until you can feel the heat. It will be a bit unpleasant, but take the burning sensation indicates that it’s working. When it subsides, your headache will be gone.

Peppermint Oil:

Peppering oil has a an amazing soothing effect when you’re suffering from horrible headache.

You can massage the peppermint oil onto your temples, the back of your jaw, and forehead. You will feel a cooling sensation upon applying it and will feel the headache slowly disappearing. Taking few deep breaths will also give you soothing effect.

Ginger tea:


An anti-inflammatory ginger has been a traditionally used as a headache medicine. So grind up some fresh ginger and boil it with the water used for tea and strain ginger before preparing the tea.

Almonds:

For everyday tension-type headaches, almonds can be a natural remedy and a healthier alternative than over the counter medicines. It actually acts as a pain reliever because it contains something called salicin. Salicin is one of agent found in most of the pain medicine sold over the counter. So try eating a handful of almonds when you feel a headache coming on.

In addition to Cayenne, Peppermint oil, ginger/ginger tea and almonds there are several natural ways to get rid of your headaches like water would be the best remedy if your headaches at due to dehydration, Yoga, doing stretches, relaxing and breathing would be best for the headache due to stress.

Whatever type of headache it may be it’s best to get rid of it the natural way so go ahead try it next time that horrible headache annoys you in your valuable busy life.
